Hi, I'm Jodi, Doctor of Social Work (DSW), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and a compassionate therapist with a heart for helping. On this page you can read inspiring testimonials from clients who've embarked on their own journeys of healing and self-discovery.

A little about my background: I have over thirty years of experience in social work and twelve years focusing on psychotherapy. My personal and professional life revolve around compassion, acceptance, patience, and authenticity, creating a safe space for all individuals.
Guided by my unwavering belief in the innate goodness of every person, I find joy and purpose in helping others. My career has taken me through diverse settings, including inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient care.
I’ve also had the honor of mentoring and teaching aspiring therapists through clinical supervision and trainings. My passion lies in making a positive impact on the lives of others, both directly and indirectly.
My social work adventure began in my teenage years, as a volunteer for the Special Olympics. I went on to work in group homes for adults with developmental disabilities, and later devoted time to volunteering for hospice and teaching meditation in a halfway house, children’s hospital, and in the community.
Higher education became part of my journey later in life, where I proudly earned my undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees. For the past 12 years, I’ve been practicing psychotherapy, 10 of which have been in clinic settings.
In my leisure time, I enjoy being with my family, friends, and cats, making art, meditating, reading, spending time alone, and connecting with nature. These activities are all integral to my self-care!
Spirituality has been a guiding force throughout my life since childhood, leading me to explore books on religion, spirituality, and other enlightening topics. These discoveries led me to embrace Buddhism in my 20’s, participating in daylong teachings with Tibetan Buddhist teachers and attending extended silent retreats.
Since spirituality has always played such an essential role in my life, offering solace and hope, I find myself fascinated by others’ beliefs, values, and sources of hope and coping.
“From our very first session, I felt an immediate sense of trust and safety. Jodi creates an environment that is both nurturing and non-judgmental, which has allowed me to explore the deepest parts of myself. Jodi's mindful and compassionate approach has been instrumental in helping me uncover and understand aspects of myself that I had never fully realized. She has a remarkable ability to ask the right questions and provide insights that guide me towards greater self-awareness and clarity. I am incredibly grateful for Jodi and highly recommend her services to anyone seeking a compassionate guide on their journey.”
“I’ve tried going to therapy multiple times over the years, and never felt like it “worked” for me. I didn’t connect with the therapists, never felt heard, and didn’t feel like I was making any improvements in my healing journey. I’ve been working with Jodi for over a year now, and I can say all of those beliefs about therapy are the farthest from the truth when it comes to working with her. She’s so kind and caring, and wants nothing but the best for her clients. Jodi was there to listen and support me at my lowest lows and darkest times, and is now cheering me on as I’ve reached the light at the end of the tunnel. I wholeheartedly recommend working with Jodi through your therapy journey. I can easily say that she’s changed my life!”
“I cannot thank Jodi enough for the incredible support and guidance she’s provided me over the past few years. Navigating my 20s, with all its challenges and uncertainties, felt overwhelming, especially while dealing with trauma and anxiety. From our very first session, Jodi created a safe and compassionate space where I felt heard and understood. Her expertise and empathetic approach helped me uncover the roots of my anxiety and trauma. Jodi equipped me with practical tools and coping strategies that have been invaluable in my journey towards healing and self-discovery. Their unwavering support and insightful advice have not only helped me manage my anxiety but also empowered me to grow into a more confident and resilient person. Thanks to Jodi, I now face life's challenges with greater clarity and strength. I highly recommend their services to anyone seeking a caring and effective therapist. Jodi Manning has truly made a profound difference in my life, and I am forever grateful.”
“Dr. Jodi has been incredible to work with. She offers solid advice in a kind way and always provides a safe space for exchange. She takes the time to get to know her patients individually and never makes you feel rushed or forgotten, as I have experienced this with other therapists in my past. I look forward to our sessions together as we explore healthier ways to cope with stress and healing childhood traumas. She has helped me bring a new awareness to my responses and triggers. I am very grateful to be working with her.”
Jodi Manning is a wonderful therapist. She is extraordinarily empathetic, insightful, and constructive. She is helping me understand myself on a deeper level. She’s also provided me with various types of strategies and has offered excellent perspective to help address past traumas and deal with current challenges. She listens extremely well and, I believe, is helping me to find more contentment and peace in my life.
“Jodi has been a life-changing therapist and mentor in my journey towards being the best version of myself. With Jodi's help, I've overcome personal challenges and am achieving a greater sense of well-being. I am incredibly grateful for her guidance and highly recommend her services.”
"Jodi creates a warm and supportive environment in our sessions, allowing me to feel safe and open to working through even the toughest challenges. Jodi's spirituality and background in Buddhist Psychology sets her apart from others in her field, bringing a unique calmness and enlightenment that allows for deeper work. As a working mom with a demanding career, Jodi has helped me find grounding and a sustainable approach to managing daily life. I am grateful to have found Jodi and I would recommend her to anyone seeking personal growth and healing."
“My sessions with Wellspring have been invaluable to my mental and physical health. Jodi is a terrific listener, kind soul and wise counselor who is open to discussing any topic I want to discuss. She gives practical, non-judgmental advice that I’ve used to help me better navigate issues that are very specific to me as well as issues that one would consider macro, existential challenges commonly faced by all people. Do yourself, and your loved ones, a favor and work with her. You’ll be much better off for having done so.”
“Life presents us with baffling emotions. I often tried to control or resist the emotions that seemed to rule my life, despairing more each time my efforts failed.
Jodi’s support walked me through a more compassionate perspective of myself, where I could work with my emotions, not against them. She displayed a radical acceptance and curiosity towards me no matter how I showed up in sessions.
I gained fundamental coping skills to use for many situations. Jodi’s practical approach showed me a profoundly more mindful and loving way to live.”
"As a medical professional, finding a therapist I trusted and felt safe with was difficult - until I met Jodi. She was warm, understanding, and didn't push me further than I was ready to go - and yet still helped me make progress. It was a relief to find her"
Coming from a family that does not believe in therapy, this journey has been transformative for me. Through our sessions, I have learned the critical importance of self-care, self-compassion, and giving myself grace. I have realized that I matter and that if I continue to give all of myself to others, I will have nothing left for myself. This understanding has been a pivotal change in my life.
You have taught me to look at myself in the mirror and hold myself accountable. Your guidance has forced me to look within and set reasonable limits for myself. You make me feel comfortable while still holding me accountable, a balance that has been incredibly beneficial. Your availability and the way you set boundaries have shown me the importance of both aspects in relationships.
Anyone under your care and guidance is truly fortunate. Your support has been instrumental in my growth and healing. Thank you for everything you have done for me.
I have been a client for almost two years, and I have found my therapy experience with Jodi to be incredibly positive! She is a great listener and very supportive, which makes it easy for me to open up to her about a variety of topics. She has taught me many coping strategies to help me with my anxiety, and I sincerely appreciate all the times she has been there for me. Jodi genuinely keeps her clients' best interests in mind, using her knowledge and compassion to help clients reach their goals!
I met with three prior therapists that I did not connect with well prior to Jodi. From the first appointment over a year ago to now, Jodi has been an invaluable help to me. She is very good at understanding where I am and if that means I need a listener, a suggester, or someone to assign me homework! She has helped me in many dimensions, including recovery from trauma, understanding how my family of origin has significantly shaped who I am and how I think, and issues with food and alcohol. I have evolved, learned, and grown so much under her care. She has explained to me the value of a trusting therapeutic relationship, and I am grateful that we have one.
"Jodi is amazing. She has helped me understand what self compassion really means and different ways to view anxiety, even during the most stressful situations. I'm so lucky to have her in my corner as I continue on my mental health journey."
